You can't always trust the pattern. Learn how to make it fit right.
In the Art of the Custom Fit you will learn how to adjust and design garments as you knit them, adapting them from a pre-existing pattern, or inventing them from scratch. You will develop an understanding of how different fibers, plies, and gauges lend themselves to drape and shape, what types of increases and decreases to sculpt with, and how to map the geometry of your body to design and create a truly custom handknit garment.
This class will take you from drafting your idea, swatching for stitch pattern and drape and determining gauges, to blocking and assembling your garment.
We are currently compiling a list of parties interested in this class. If you would like to be notified when this class is scheduled, please contact us at thelittleknittery@gmail.com with subject line "Design Lab."
